Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Presenting a dozen exhibitions each year featuring works by well-known, mid-career, and emerging artists, Kemper Museum offers visitors a chance to experience something new. Since opening in 1994, the Museum has had a strong commitment to its mission: enriching lives through the experience of contemporary art, by exhibiting, collecting, and educating in a free and welcoming environment. Museum admission and parking are always free.

The heart of Kemper Museum is its Permanent Collection, which has more than tripled since the Museum opened to nearly fourteen hundred works. At the core of the Permanent Collection is the Bebe and Crosby Kemper Collection, a gift by the Museum’s founders R. Crosby and Bebe Kemper and the Kemper Foundations.

The Museum’s celebrated Café Sebastienne – serving lunch and brunch – has won high praise, including its inclusion in Zagat Guide’s Top American Restaurants. With a lovely backdrop showcasing artwork by Frederick J. Brown, Café Sebastienne combines the worlds of contemporary art and contemporary cuisine.
