DESCRIPTION:The Blue Mountain Gallery\, 547 W. 27th Street\, #201\, Chelsea NYC\, is pleased to announce an exhibition of landscape paintings by Theresa Bartol.  The paintings take us on her journey in which she withdraws from all associations of the material world created by man and surrenders herself to Nature and its messages. Each painting presents a musical composition of light and colors. \n\nEarly influences of Music and Nature. \nIn the 1970’s Theresa was given an old Horizon Magazine which contained a page of J.S. Bach’s musical composition to the Prelude in B Minor. Upon seeing this page\, she instinctively began to paint floral compositions inspired by the printed musical notes. As a teenager she played the violin and saw how the series of notes suggested movement graphically and in musical harmony. From then on\, she has woven ideas about music into her work.

DESCRIPTION:In the past few years\, for many of us\, the majority of our daily interactions occur through a screen. We work at a day job\, staring all day at a screen. Then\, we turn to a different screen at night\, to stream more ‘content’.  The phone.  The laptop\, The iPad.  The ‘zoom’ calls.  Emails. Texts. Tweets. The streaming service. The FB ‘friends’.  The Instagram ‘followers’. The TikTok. The computer screen.  The computer screen. It feels a bit like the Jetsons meets the ‘Boy in the Plastic Bubble’.  My work in this exhibition is based upon a selection of images I saw through my screen.

The 2023 season will include exhibitions by over one dozen artists\, including Barbara Takenaga\, James Siena\, Elliott Green\, Lisa Corinne Davis\, and Judy Pfaff. The exhibition space includes two floors on Warren Street\, a sculpture courtyard\, and a historic four story Carriage House. Before opening the gallery\, Pamela worked at The Olana State Historic Site in Hudson\, NY\, and enjoyed a long tenure at the New York Studio School (Eighth Street\, NY) where she was responsible for the Main Gallery Exhibitions\, related programming\, and the Evening Lecture Series. SUMMARY:RK Mills: INSIDE/OUT\, STILL
DESCRIPTION:RK Mills: The paintings in this exhibit were primarily done between late 2019 through the pandemic isolation of 2020 into 2021. A solitary and quiet focus on my immediate surroundings\, mostly my Delaware County studio and the light flowing in and out\, helped keep me somewhat sane. Though the paintings did get dark. A narrative arc emerges. \nI am interested in abstract\, built and composed painting without losing the specific place\, time or emotion. Finding that intersection is tricky. \n
