SUMMARY:"New Vistas" and "Once Upon a Mood" Opening
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the opening reception for New Vistas and Once Upon a Mood on Thursday May 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. \n“New Vistas” is Liz Stern’s latest show. With a nod to her new home in Music City\, Elizabeth Stern subtitles her show with a tongue-in-cheek reference to small town hysteria fueled by a traveling con man in the musical The Music Man. New Vistas: With a Capital V that rhymes with T that stands for Tennessee is a playful collection of paintings\, prints and mixed media works inspired by Stern’s latest views as a Nashville transplant. \n“Once Upon a Mood” is a group show featuring Gail Comes\, Aljoscha Farassat and Souren Teghrarian \n\nLight refreshments will be served in the lobby area outside the gallery. (Once inside\, we ask that you wear a mask.)

(Once inside\, we ask that you wear a mask.) \nBarbara Shelly found her voice through art. Barbara’s paintings combine her interest in dance\, fashion\, performing arts and current events. She comes from a long line of activists and art lovers. Barbara grew up in the 50’s immersed in everything that mid-century culture had to offer. Her passion for the arts\, admiration for leaders\, compassion for humanity and hope for change emerge in her work. \n50% of sales from “Here’s Looking at You” goes to the non-profit balletbandbeyondnyc.org.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the opening reception for “Outside the Lines” and “Perceptions and Realities” on Thursday March 10th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served in the lobby area outside the gallery. (Once inside\, we ask that you wear a mask.) \n“Outside the Lines” is a celebration of art without restraints. Laurie Murray’s abstracts are established in an architectural framework\, then infused with color and energetic brushstrokes. For her figurative and other more realistic work\, refinement and control eventually succumb to mood\, communicated with gesture\, line and texture.

SUMMARY:"Making Sense" Opening Reception
DESCRIPTION:Denise Adler’s latest show\, “Making Sense” is a retrospective of sorts tracing the trajectory of work the artist has created over her professional life. A deep dive into the common threads that connect and distinguish her style and sensibility across mediums. Denise Adler sets out to create portraits and dreamscapes that express the mythic and legendary. These pieces\, both personal and archetypical\, memorialize a moment in time. Her mixed media work often takes the form of drawing\, painting and collage. Magazines\, photographs and found materials factor in and become the story within the story. Her solo show “Making Sense” in February 2022 at Pictor Gallery\, looks at the artist’s journey over her more than 40 year career. It includes photography\, printmaking as well as mixed media collage and pairs her earlier works with more recent work\, with the goal of telling a cohesive and personal story. \nIn Gallery 2 is “States of Mind” showing works by Terri Fraser\, Judith Luongo\, Elizabeth Stern \nPlease join us for the opening reception for Making Sense and States of Mind on Thursday February 10th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served in the lobby area outside the gallery. (Once inside\, we ask that you wear a mask.) On Saturday February 12th from 3-6 will also be having a Celebration\, Please join us then as well! Then on Thursday February 17th join us for our Pictor Salon\, featuring Plays For Us from 6:00-8:00 pm. This New York based group of actors will present 3 short play readings dealing with feminism\, politics as well as social and racial justice in: The Persistence of Nasty.
