SUMMARY:Assemble: Tufting Gun Tapestries
DESCRIPTION:Logan Center Exhibitions presents Assemble: Tufting Gun Tapestries. For their first presentation in Chicago\, members of the architecture collective Assemble Studio will lead a series of public workshops in collaboration with students from the Material Institute in New Orleans to produce a large-scale tapestry to be displayed in the Logan Center Gallery. Exploring their interests in alternative education and spatial practices\, this project will transform the Logan Center Gallery into an active site of learning through an investigation of fabric arts\, and will consider its spatial and political potential. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of photographs\, texts\, and ephemera that contextualize Assemble Studio’s approach through past projects.
