ANDREW LYGHT | Touch Wood
June 7, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

(Woodstock, NY) – The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is pleased to announce the opening of Andrew Lyght | Touch Wood, an exhibition curated by Osi Audu featuring the constructed paintings of artist Andrew Lyght. The exhibition opens with a reception for the artist on Saturday, June 7, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and will be on view through July 20, 2024, at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts, 36 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY.
Andrew Lyght | Touch Wood presents a unique collection of sculptural paintings. Lyght combines wood, paint, chalk, and rope to create abstract compositions that challenge traditional perceptions of dimensional space. Through his distinctive use of mathematics, materials, and form, Andrew Lyght invites viewers to engage deeply with the language of abstraction in a new and thought-provoking way.
Curator Osi Audu notes, “Andrew Lyght uses geometric shapes to articulate space in affecting ways. His compositions speak to something both beautiful and precarious about the human condition, and our current state of existence in the 21st century.”
Art writer Seph Rodney will moderate a discussion with artist Andrew Lyght and exhibition curator Osi Audu at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts on Saturday, June 14th, at 2:00 PM
