Bowery Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings, prints, and drawings by Evelyn Twitchell. In her new abstractions, the artist continues her exploration of forces and sensations—the flow of light, the rhythm of pattern—drawn from the natural landscape outside the studio windows. And in some impressionistic compositions, the shimmering marks form a sort of scrim suggesting other sources—in the veiled distances of memory and, among those distances, the joys of discovery.

This is Twitchell’s tenth solo show, and her third at Bowery Gallery. Her work has been shown in group shows in New York and around the country, and at the art fairs Pulse Miami and Pulse New York. Critics have praised her work in numerous publications, including artcritical.com, The New York Sun, The New Republic, and Whitewall, among others.

Evelyn Twitchell divides her time between Brooklyn, New York, and a house on the Susquehanna River in Milton, PA.
