Ford Crull | Solo Exhibition
August 17 @ 12:00 pm - September 29 @ 5:00 pm
(Woodstock, NY): Ford Crull explores symbols in this series of densely painted and colorful compositions. Using forms such as hearts, wings, crosses, and figures, Crull grounds his vocabulary in brilliant hues that shimmer and dance across the canvas. Fleeting words and phrases, also float across the surface while a myriad of emblems imply romantic suffering, occult wisdom, and spiritual release. Co-existing in a mystical atmosphere in which these forms dissolve and regroup among layers of jewel-like color. These works are personal meditations, but free from their origins and now serving as archetypes. These paintings are meditations on emotions seeking resolution.
FORD CRULL, curated by Carter Ratcliff, opens with an artist’s reception on Saturday August 17, from 4:00pm – 6:00 pm and remains on view through September 29, 2024.
