MFA Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts presents a lecture/performance by Elyla (Fredman Barahona), in conjunction with the exhibition “Believing You,” in the SVA Chelsea Gallery.

Elyla (Fredman Barahona) is a Nicaraguan performance artist and activist. Their work often blends video performance, installations, photo performance, relational art and workshops that explore crossings between theater, performance and activism. Elyla is also a founding member of the trans-feminist collective, Operacion Queer/Cochona.

Elyla (Fredman Barahona) is an Artist Protection Fund Fellow in residence at Bucknell University, supported by the Ekard Artist Residency.
