Marion Palfi in the Archive: A Social Justice Photographer Across Three Collections

December 15, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join the Center for Creative Photography, the Spencer Museum of Art, and the Amistad Research Center at Tulane University in this virtual panel to discuss the work of photographer and social justice advocate Marion Palfi (1907-1978). Curators and archivists from the three institutions will explore Palfi’s practice, the history of these distinct collections and how they are used for teaching and research, and what it means to be the custodians of an artist’s legacy.

This conversation is related to the exhibition Freedom Must Be Lived: Marion Palfi’s America, 1940-1978, organized by the Center for Creative Photography and on view at Phoenix Art Museum through January 2, 2022.
