Mariette Pathy Allen has been photographing the transgender, genderfluid, and intersex communities for over 40 years. Her photography and multiple written works on the subject of gender consciousness have brought the topic to the forefront of institutions and people across the globe. Her work has been recognized and archived by Duke University’s Rare Book and Manuscripts Library and The Sallie Bingham Center for Women’s Studies.
