As our environment is threatened, and trees are uprooted by storms and fires, primeval roots emerge from ice layers and forests rejuvenate from fallen branches and buried seeds.  In Rooted UpRooted, curated by Roya Khadjavi and Massoud Nader, four artists show the paths they have forged in a new land from their Iranian roots.  Using modern methods and materials, in photography and sculpture, their art merges two cultures in a strong and beautiful show.  With unique ways of seeing and depicting, they show us how the deep roots of trees mirror their roots and how connecting branches produce new leaves and fruits reflecting new lives in a new land.
