When the effects of Covid-19 first hit, Zimbabwe had one of the strictest lock downs in the world. With nearly all infrastructure closed, Perlagia Mutyavaviri and Peter Gwisa quickly adjusted for the sake of their art and continued creating complex, positive and uplifting sculptures. These third-generation sculptors’ newest works in stone prove that even with the devastation of a world-wide pandemic, hopefulness and unity will prevail. The optimism of the Zimbabwe people is infectious!
