Join us for the first session of Symposium: The View from Africa: Greco-Roman Antiquity through an African Lens!

Join us on Monday, April 11 in the Dogwood Room of the Barone Campus Center for the keynote lecture, Egypt, Africa, and their Wider Context, by Roger Bagnall, PhD. Bagnall is the Leon Levy Director Emeritus and Emeritus Professor of Ancient History in the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World at New York University. His work spans the Hellenistic, Roman, and Late Antique eastern Mediterranean, especially Egypt, focusing particularly on documents on papyrus and potsherds.

Seating is limited. Please register prior to the event.

 

This event is part of the The Vincent J. Rosivach Lecture Series in Ancient Mediterranean Studies and organized by the Program in Classical Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences at Fairfield University. It is co-sponsored by the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, the Art History & Visual Culture Program in the Visual and Performing Arts Department, and the Fairfield University Art Museum.
