Cross Contemporary Partners Launches Benefit Art Sale for the 2020 Woodstock Film Festival

ARTWORK DONATED BY: Joan Snyder, Brenda Goodman, Mary Frank, Portia Munson, Catherine Howe, John Cuneo, Lowell Miller, Christy Rupp, Martin Weinstein, Millicent Young, and Melinda Stickney-Gibson, all viewable in a virtual gallery

Woodstock, NY, June 12, 2020: For those looking to purchase a great work of art for a worthy cause, Cross Contemporary Partners, an art advisory and digital marketing firm for visual artists, will be hosting an online art sale from June 19th to July 5th with all proceeds going towards supporting the Woodstock Film Festival, a 501(3)(c) organization.

Since 2000 the Woodstock Film Festival has presented a diverse annual program of films, concerts, panels, and special events throughout NY’s Hudson Valley and Catskill regions, showcasing passionate, creative, and thought-provoking work by some of today’s most promising and accomplished independent filmmakers from around the world. Starting in early March, in response to the pandemic, the festival has been providing to the public free, free of charge, online talks with filmmakers and industry leaders, as well as highlighting free streamable short and feature length films by festival alumni. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, many of the theaters and performing arts spaces used by the festival are closed, which, combined with restrictions on wide-scale gatherings will have a profound financial impact on the fall film festival.

The upcoming fundraiser organized by Jen Dragon and Katherine T. Carter will feature artwork by several prominent artists, among them, are: Joan Snyder, Brenda Goodman, Many Frank, Portia Munson, Catherine Howe, John Cuneo, Lowell Miller, Christy Rupp, Millicent Young, Martin Weinstein, and Melinda Stickney-Gibson, to name a few. Private donations from prominent collectors include important artwork by Judy Pfaff, Helmut Newton, and Sir Terry Frost will be available as well as a rare Albrecht Durer engraving. Cross Contemporary Partners will also be launching a virtual 3D installation available online accessible to patrons 24/7 to display the artwork. The pieces can be purchased at their listed value with the option of making an offer above the artist’s reserve price.
