HoloCenter

Center for the Holographic Arts

Michael Bleyenberg, Patrick Boyd, Lana Briscella,  Pascal Gauchet, Setsuko Ishii and Fred Unterseher, IRIDESCENCE
Six artists selected through an international competition to produce major new holographic works.

Known for her architectural and outdoor installations Setsuko Ishii brings nature through light in four stunning art holograms. The sculpture of images by Pascal Gauchet holds glimpses that fragment and combine. The viewer becomes the photographer, an eyewitness, in new series of holograms by Patrick Boyd. Artists and thinkers who changed the understanding light of art are abstracted subjects in the holographic portrait by Michael Bleyenberg. Pioneer of the field Fred Unterseher creates a dynamic figure with the multiplicity of undulating light. The digital holograms created by Lana Briscella capture motion as form with principal ballerina Diana Vishneva. Together these works form an exhibition of visual tantalization. (September 1 – October 27)
