Upcoming Exhibitions

Opening October 22, 2022, LBMA is pleased to present, Brilliant Earth: The Ceramic Sculpture of Tony Marsh, a landmark survey of the artist’s work spanning 1982 to present. Marsh pays homage to what pottery has always been required—hold, preserve, beautify—but within that context takes aim at the fringe in order to explore the new, with work spurred by curiosity, risk-taking and fearless exploration. Upon opening, this exhibition will be on view through March 19, 2023.

Opening in tandem, Creature Comforts by Brent Estabrook will be the inaugural solo museum exhibition of the Los Angeles-based artist. Best known for his large-scale oil paintings of stuffed animals, Estabrook approaches his work with a delightful playfulness while maintaining a sedulous painterly technique. His portraits welcome a sense of endearment and comfort, being familiar faces in an often, unfamiliar world. Creature Comforts will be on view through February 12, 2023.
