CORRUGATED, a group show featuring work by Michael Ballou, Mara Clawson, Joe Diggs, Adrian Frost, Wendy Klemperer. Henry Klimowicz. Lowell Miller. Susanna Ronner and Christy Rupp opens with a reception for the artists on Sunday July 27, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Opus 40 in Saugerties, NY.

Cardboard, often overlooked, is a versatile medium for artists and designers. Its accessibility and low cost encourage innovation and experimentation. In an era where sustainability is paramount, cardboard provides an eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials, allowing artists to create innovative artworks while minimizing their environmental impact. The lightweight nature of cardboard allows for easy manipulation and transport, while its recyclability makes it an ideal choice for sustainable art practices. By transforming waste into art, creators not only challenge consumer culture but also inspire others to reconsider their relationship with materials.  The artists in this exhibition independently explore color, shape, and form, demonstrating that beauty and ingenuity can emerge from simplicity.  Ultimately, art made from cardboard reflects the power in the mundane, inviting us to rethink our relationship with consumer culture, challenge perceptions of value, and encourage a shift toward more sustainable practices.
