Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public. Cornel West

As we lean toward greater equality, artists are reminding us that love is the basis of justice. Join artists Mildred Beltré, Azikiwe Mohammed, and Dáreece J. Walker, in a conversation about the daring quest to be more loving and inclusive than we can possibly know. Mildred Beltré is a Brooklyn-based artist, educator, and community organizer whose work focuses on social change through print, drawing, and participatory practice. Azikiwe Mohammed is a New York-based multimedia artist who invented the  New Davonhaime, a conceptual city for Black community, safety, and belonging . Dáreece J. Walker is a Brooklyn-based artist whose narrative paintings, drawings and sculptures combine race, identity, religion, and family.

The talk will be moderated by Paola Gallio of Assembly Room, co-curator of Living in America.

This is the second in a series of four conversations held in conjunction with Living in America

This Zoom webinar is free and open to the public. Live captioning will be available. The event will be recorded and made available online. Feel free to send questions in advance to contact@ipcny.org.
