John Natsoulas Gallery

Contemporary art; painting and sculpture; San Francisco Bay Area art of the '50s, '60s, and '70s; Beat Generation and beyond; ceramic sculpture.

Established 35 years ago, the John Natsoulas Gallery has earned numerous honors, supported emerging artists, and advanced fine art with its dynamic and forward-thinking attitude. The 4-story exhibition changes every month to keep up with the continuous momentum of Davis, home to great artists like Wayne Thiebaud and Robert Arneson. The rooftop garden sculpture provides a place for people to enjoy art, study, or even hold a wedding ceremony!

Today, the Gallery continues in its mission, producing historical and high-profile exhibitions, publishing hundreds of artists’ catalogs and books, hosting educational conferences, and spearheading the country’s first Transmedia Art Walk in downtown Davis, with its fifty plus sculptures and murals by local artists. The annual Ceramics conference is one of the largest gatherings of sculptural ceramics in the entire country, and the annual Art of Painting conference showcases some of the top contemporary painters from around the world.

“I’ve been in a lot of galleries and when I walked in I was stunned. It is just one treat to the eye and brain after another.” – Peter Coyote
